Great to meet you!

About My Practice

With 30 years as a licensed professional counselor, I bring both deep expertise and genuine compassion to the therapeutic relationship. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and completed my graduate work at West Texas A&M University, building a foundation that has allowed me to grow alongside my clients through decades of meaningful work.

Areas of Specialization

Trauma, Anxiety & Depression I have extensive experience helping clients navigate the complex terrain of trauma, anxiety, and depression. Whether you're struggling with past experiences that continue to impact your present, or facing overwhelming worry and sadness, I provide a safe space for healing and growth.

Couples & Relationship Work Over time, my practice has evolved to include comprehensive couples therapy and premarital counseling. I help partners strengthen their connection, navigate conflict, and build the foundation for lasting relationships—whether you're preparing for marriage or working to renew your commitment to one another.

Life Transitions & Crises Life's pivotal moments—both chosen and unexpected—can leave us feeling unmoored. I work with individuals facing divorce, career transitions, and other significant life changes, helping you find clarity and strength during uncertain times.

The Essential Human Experience

Many clients seek me out specifically for support with life stage challenges: pregnancy and loss, marriage and divorce, health and illness, and end-of-life concerns. These are the existential questions we all face—the profound experiences that shape who we are and how we find meaning. I consider it an honor to walk alongside you during these deeply human moments, offering perspective, support, and a compassionate presence as you navigate your unique journey.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Therapy

I believe deeply that we need each other to achieve our best lives and become our authentic selves. Healing, growth, and thriving don't happen in isolation—they unfold through genuine connection and collaboration. I would consider it an honor to be your companion and collaborator during this season of your life.

What Working Together Looks Like

Therapy with me is a partnership. I bring my experience, perspective, and thoughtful questions; you bring your wisdom about your own life and the courage to explore it honestly. Together, we'll work toward the goals that matter most to you.

I live for those "aha moments"—when something clicks, when a pattern becomes clear, when you suddenly see a path forward you couldn't see before. These breakthroughs, large and small, happen when we create space for them together.

A Pace That Fits Your Needs

Some clients know they want focused, solution-oriented work to address a specific challenge. Others need time and space to process, reflect, and gradually untangle complex emotions and experiences. Both approaches are valid, and I'll help you discover what serves you best.

I adapt to your needs and preferences while gently challenging you when it's helpful. My role is to guide and support you, asking the questions that matter and helping you find your own answers.

Taking the First Step

If you're looking for a therapist who will truly collaborate with you—not just tell you what to do—I'd love to hear from you. Reaching out takes courage, and I'm here to make that first step as easy as possible. Let's explore how we might work together.

What you can expect from me

Your First Session: What to Expect

Recognizing that you need someone to walk alongside you through unknown roads and difficult seasons takes real courage. I don't take that courage lightly.

In our first session, my primary goal is simple: to truly listen. I want to understand what brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you're hoping will be different. Think of it as sitting down with a trusted friend who genuinely wants to know your story—except this friend also has 30 years of experience helping people find their way forward.

We won't solve everything in that first hour, and that's okay. Healing and growth unfold over time, not in a single conversation. What we will do is begin to build the foundation of trust and understanding that makes meaningful work possible. Together, we'll start to identify what you want from therapy and sketch out a path toward those goals.

My hope is that you'll leave our first session feeling two things: deeply heard and genuinely hopeful. Heard because I've taken the time to really see you and understand your experience. Hopeful because you'll sense that change is possible and that you won't be navigating this journey alone.

I'm passionate about supporting your healing and growth, and I'm not afraid to ask the hard questions when the time is right. But first? First, we simply begin—with listening, with connection, and with the trust that we can build something meaningful together.
